    "Choosing Your Character" Guide

    Questions:

    Q. What is the purpose of this guide?

    A. This character is mainly directed at new players who have trouble choosing which character to play.

    By reading this guide, you will be able to find out the basics of the character: their story, specialty, difficulty to play, and future job advancements.

    This guide will consist mostly of basic information. For in-depth information of a character's job, there are specific job guides placed in the Character and Skills forum section. Refer to the Official Guide Archives to find them; you can find them in specific character sections or you can click on the links at the bottom of each section within this guide.



    Q. How difficult is the character?

    A. There will be a difficulty scale listed in stars (☆). ☆ is the easy, the max of ☆☆☆☆☆ being difficult.

    This difficulty scale is based on how flexible the character is, in terms of damage output, survivability, and ease of attack/movement control.



    Q. What is a "B-Slot?" Is it important to have one?

    A. A "B-Slot" is the second set of skills in your skill menu. At first you have the A-Slot, allowing you to have 4 skills. With the additional B-Slot, you can have access to 8 skills. A B-Slot is acquired through the Item Mall (cash shop); 450 K-Ching ($4.50) for a 30-day slot and 900 K-Ching ($9) for a permanent one.

    Many players argue that some classes are not easy to play without a B-Slot, stating that certain classes "need" it. This is because those certain classes have to have as many of the skills they have access to in order to be efficient and flexible for any situation in the game.

    It is not required that you have a B-Slot; in fact, some players have lived well through the game with just only 4 skills. However, for a full fun experience, it is suggested that you get a B-Slot for any character you have, if you can afford it of course.


    Q. What does "Imperal, Rebellious, and Transform" mean?

    A. These refer to canon paths. It is just a fun fact and will not affect your gameplay in anyway.

    There are 3 class branches, each with names: Imperial, Rebellious, and Transform. Imperial refers to the character staying on the "traditional" path of the game, giving a feel of elegance. Rebellious implies that the character has chosen a different path that is unlike traditional ideas, usually meaning a dark and untamed personality of the character. Transform, the newer branch, refers to "transforming" the character into a completely new idea exotic and unimagined, hence new kinds of powers unlike either Imperial or Rebellious.

    Q. You seem to note every character to have a "Hyper Active." What are Hyper Actives? And why don't we have them yet?

    Hyper Actives are merely Special Active skills with an upgrade. You can also consider them a job class' "final skill." They deal tremendous damage, and the range of every Hyper Active covers at least the whole computer screen if not more, and some even go for an infinite range! They also cannot be mana broken. They cost 300 MP and are exclusive to 2nd jobs of the characters, and also require one "El Essence" item to use the skill, which you can get from right clicking elemental El Shards (not mystery).

    I am noting them because, well, they are very special. We do not have them yet, but I feel they would give a nice exhibit of a character's "final" ability and help players consider what character to choose until the Hyper Actives arrive.


    Q. What if I still can't choose a character right for me?

    A. Then I have no help there at all. Try a lottery drawing.


    Q. I see the some classes/abilities "CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE IN NORTH AMERICA". Does that mean we won't get them? They look so cool though!

    A. We will get them. Do not worry, but what you must NOT do is ask everyone on the forums. No one knows exactly when the rest of the classes/abilities will arrive.


    So, let's start the guide!



    Elsword, the Knight




    Story:
    Elsword, is an ambitious but hot headed young swordsman, trained by the leader of the Red Knights, his sister Elesis. Elesis left her little brother to lead a mission, never to return. Elsword now searches the land for two things; El, the precious gems that power his kingdom, and his missing sister.


    Specialties: Swordplay, Counter-attacks, Super Armor

    When playing as Elsword, there will be an additional gauge below the HP/MP bar. This "Way of the Sword" gauge will enable you to activate one of two kinds of power: "Aura of Vitality" or "Aura of Destruction" for a period of time.

    Depending on the type of combo attack (Z and X keys) or skill you use, the gauge will lean towards vitality or destruction. While in either "Aura of Vitality" or "Aura of Destruction", you will receive certain special benefits.


    Note that the system is not what it may appear to be at first; vitality-type attacks take away vitality from the gauge, leaning the gauge towards destruction; destruction-type attacks take away destruction from the gauge, leaning the gauge towards vitality; this is why only attacks that use the gauge area affected in the respective aura.

    Example 1: The ZZZZ combo sequence is vitality based. Therefore, it must use vitality for attacking. Using ZZZZ will drain vitality, and fill destruction.

    Example 2: The XXX combo sequence is destruction based. Therefore, it must use destruction for attacking. Using XXX will drain destruction, and fill vitality.

    You can view if your attacks deal Vitality or Destruction by checking the attack sequence menu. Press K, then click the words (Idle, Dash, Jump, Dash-Jump) at the top of the menu to access a list of your attacks. Skills will be noted to be either Vitality or Destruction when you hover your mouse over them and view their description.


    Aura of Vitality

    When the gauge is completely blue (by using destruction-based attacks) Vitality will be unleashed in the form of azure aura.



    Under the effects of Aura of Vitality, you will gain the following benefits:

    • Increased action, movement, and jump speed.
    • Vitality-based skills cost 30% less mana.
    • Hits from Vitality-based attacks and skills will have massive increase in mana regeneration per hit.




    Aura of Destruction

    When the gauge is completely red (by using vitality-based attacks) Destruction will be unleashed in the form of crimson aura.



    Under the effects of Aura of Destruction, you will gain the following benefits:

    • Destruction-based actives and skills will do 50% more damage, and destruction-based normal attacks will do double damage.
    • When attacked, Elsword will howl, and enemies within his immediate surrounding are damaged and knocked away. After the howl, Elsword will remain in a super armor (unflinchable) state for 6 seconds.




    *Be aware that Aura of Vitality and Aura of Destruction have no time limits. They become empty once Elsword attacks enough or becomes attacked enough.

    Sword Knight & Lord Knight
    Imperial






    Summary: Uses highly-skilled swordplay to dish out high amounts of physical damage to enemies.

    Recommendation:
    The Sword Knight and Lord Knight classes are the traditional, physical-damage dealing Knight classes of an MMO. As a SK/LK, Elsword delivers great force and power in his skills. Beginners to the game are recommended to try out Elsword as a Sword Knight/Lord Knight to get a fresh feel, and you could either stick with this basic, yet very damaging class, or try out other classes once you're more familiar with the game.



    Some Skills of SK/LK:


    Windmill - Elsword spins around with his sword to form a moveable whirlwind attack dealing damage continuously while being in super armor.


    Armageddon Blade - Elsword transcends his sword with a powerful aura that increases the overall range of his attacks for a period of time.


    Sandstorm - Elsword prepares a stance and summons a wide sandstorm that sends any enemy flying up into the air while dealing heavy damage and lowering their Accuracy.


    Hyper Active: Gigantic Slash - Elsword imbues magic into his sword, resulting in a large aura appearing around it. He then uses it to furiously attack his targets with a barrage of slashes.

    Magic Knight & Rune Slayer

    Summary: Combines Elsword's basic physical swordplay with additional magic attacks consisting of powerful fireballs and runes.

    Recommendation:
    The Magic Knight and Rune Slayer class gives a new style for Elsword. With the addition of mid-range combat, you'll be able to follow up your sword slashes with burning fireballs as a Magic Knight, or once you become Rune Slayer, you'll have stylish attacks using powerful runes. If you like your knight character to also have magic-ranged abilities, then this class is for you.


    Some Skills of MK/RS:


    Sword Fire - Elsword drives his sword into the ground to create a fiery explosion all around him, continuously dealing heavy damage and Burning his opponents. Afterwards, his sword will gain a special buff allowing him to Burn any enemy he attacks.


    Storm Blade - Elsword unleashes a swarm of rotating blades that spin around him in a wide range, continuously dealing heavy damage to anyone caught in the attack.


    Luna Blade - Elsword conjures up a gigantic magical blade above him and sends it downwards, dealing heavy magical damage while reducing the victim's mana.


    Hyper Active: Shining Rune Buster - Elsword summons a black hole from his runes, imprisoning targets. He then summons multiple rune blades and impales his target and depletes their MP with them. He then finally makes all the rune blades explode, unleashing massive damage.

    Sheath Knight & Infinity Sword
    Transform






    Summary: Dual-wields his original sword and a new sword known as Conwell to deliver speedy slashes, totaling up an immense amount of physical damage.

    Recommendation:
    The Sheath Knight and Infinity Sword is a new class that transforms your basic knight character into something more agile and destructive. Carrying two swords in hand, Elsword is able to destroy all enemies in his way in a speedy fashion, and his flexible skills will accelerate the death of all enemies in your way. For those who like the concept of dual-wielding, or for those who love dealing quick hits while still hitting with high power, this class is for you.


    Some Skills of TK/IS:

    Maelstrom Rage - Elsword throws Conwell forwards as it erupts into a small localized frenzied storm of swords that draw-in and deal continuous damage to nearby foes.


    Phantom Sword - Elsword summons an independent aura blade that looks like a gaint Conwell and it mimics the movement of his equipped sword.


    Rage Cutter - Elsword stabs a Conwell into the floor, creating a spell circle. Mini Conwells will then erupt from the circle, damaging any targets as they rise and cause them to Bleed.


    Hyper Active: Blade Rain - Using the power of his evolved Conwell, Elsword summons and drops a larger version of his Giant Sword onto his target. The sword will then open up and unleash an endless stream of Conwells, damaging all targets in the area.

    Aisha, the Magician




    Story:
    Aisha was already a mage of the highest order at the tender age of 12 until a ring of sinister power absorbed her abilities. Intelligent and brash, she once again starts her journey to relearn all that she lost.


    Specialties: Fire/Lightning/Space-Binding magic, Fireballs, Teleportation, Gliding, Party Buffs

    Summary: Focuses on strengthening magical ball attacks and utilizes elemental spells of fire, ice, lightning and wind to deal heavy damage to foes.

    Recommendation:
    The High Magician and Elemental Master class covers the basic use for the elemental magics of an MMO. High Magician will start out carrying new fire, ice and lightning spells that deal damage in various manners. Then as Elemental Master, you'll gain a new elemental spells that are in the form of heavily damaging "showers." Elemental Master will also gain access to a passive skill that boosts her efficiency with her party buffs, making Aisha not only a powerful damaging mage but also a good party support. For magic-lovers who love the use of elemental variety, this class is for you.


    Some Skills of HM/EM:


    Blizzard Shower - Summon numerous ice crystals from the air, damaging and freezing opponents on contact.


    Cyclone - Aisha summons a cyclone in front of her that continuously moves forward, repeatedly damaging the enemy if caught.


    Meteor Shower - Summon multiple meteors from the air, burning anything that gets touched by one. (Holding the skill key will allow Aisha to call forth more meteors at the expense of additional MP.)


    Lightning Shower - Aisha floats high up into the air and calls forth Lightning strikes from the sky, stunning anyone who gets touched by one. (Holding the skill key will allow Aisha to call forth more lightning strike at the expense of additional MP.)


    Hyper Active: Elemental Storm - Aisha bombards her enemies with the elements, initially summoning ice spikes to erupt from the ground, followed by a furious lightning storm, a little wind blast and ending with a fiery vortex eruption.

    Recommendation:
    The Dark Magician and Void Princess class is the offset path for the traditional magician. Bearing the incredible powers of darkness, Aisha can deal a variety of unbelievable attacks that are simple yet powerful at the same time. For lovers of destructive magic, this class is for you.


    Some Skills of DM/VP:


    Death Field - Aisha uses Death's dark power to deal heavy magic damage within a wide radius and curse affected enemies by reducing their movement speed and disabling their skills. After a period of time, an explosion will set off onto any victim hit.


    Plasma Cutter - Aisha points her finger and casts a laser straight ahead dealing continuous damage to multiple enemies. In Awakening, multiple lasers will be summoned to deal more hits.


    Phantom Breathing - Dark Fall - Aisha summons Petit Angor in front of herself to unleash dark energy which can trap opponents. Anything caught in this attack is affected with Curse.


    Petite Angkor - Heavy Doll Aisha summons a bigger and fatter version of Angkor that slows and damages enemies when attached.


    Hyper Active: Abyss Angkor - Aisha summons a giant Angkor and sits on it, commanding it to fire a large laser beam that will drag her targets in, dealing massive damage.

    Battle Magician & Dimension Witch

    Summary: Fights close-combat with staff, powerful "star balls" and magical field attacks, and utilizes space-time powers.

    Recommendation:
    The Battle Magician is a new class that transforms your basic far-ranged magician character into a close-combat mage with intensive staff strikes. Not only is this close-combat style new, but the Battle Magician will also be able to "transform" into a greater magic being, highly enhancing your strength and mana gain. Once becoming the Dimension Witch, you'll have new space-time powers to create a unique close-ranged attack style. For lovers of a close-ranged magician and for "magical girl" lovers, try this class out.


    Some Skills of BtM/DW:


    Super Nova - Aisha channels her magical force into her staff and releases the stored energy, causing a giant sphere to spin and cause high damage.


    Magical Makeup - Aisha transforms to become bigger, granting her bonus attack range on her staff attacks, enhanced combos, and increased mana gain.


    Spatial Distortion - Aisha summons a space hole in front of her, damaging any targets that are inside and absorb magical projectiles.


    Hyper Active: Fate Space - Aisha slows down time and deals damage in a round field around her. She then distorts the area, doing some damage. After that, she creates a giant field distortion, dealing continuous damage to all surrounding targets.

    Rena, the Ranger




    Story:
    Rena is an elf living in the mortal world. Her place in this world is jeopardized by the weakening of El, the power gems that energize everything including the connection to her home world. If this power fades the ties that bind the two planes will vanish as will Rena herself. She uses her abilities as a Ranger to protect the El and her friends.


    Specialties: Martial Arts, Archery, Double-Jumping

    Summary: Delivers fast flurries of arrows combined with intense wind elemental skills.

    Dungeon Difficulty:

    Recommendation: The Sniping Ranger and Grand Archer class is the basic ranged archer path of an MMO. Sniping Ranger begins using newly-gained wind skills to deliver long ranged arrow attacks. Grand Archer further improves barraging of arrows, gaining a freezing arrow attack along with an intense wind arrow. Her simple arrow barrages are easy to repeat over and over, making playing the ranged support role very, very easy. For lovers of archers that like to support from afar, this class is for you.


    Some Skills of SR/GA:


    Wind Wall - Rena casts a wind vortex in front of her that sucks in nearby enemies, trapping them in its center until it dissipates.


    Gungnir - Rena fires a powerful shot into the air which casts eight large tornado-arrows to rain down on the field around her.


    Aero Strafe - Rena jumps backwards high into the air and shoots a wind-powered arrow down at a 45 degree angle which explodes upon impact with the ground or an enemy.


    Hyper Active: Shooter Destiny - Rena fires a barrage of homing shots all around her. Each shots fired will disappear once they hit the target or fly out of range. She then summons the spirit of her bow and uses it to fire a large arrow, piercing and damaging all targets in its path.

    Recommendation:
    The Combat Ranger and Wind Sneaker class is the offset path for the traditional ranged archer. While she still has her bow, Rena will focus on close-combat kicks as Combat Ranger, having a variety of powerful attacks in her arsenal. As Wind Sneaker, the kicking becomes more easier and powerful, and not only does Rena become stronger, she'll gain extra combo skill and the ability to heal allies while increasing their attack speed. For lovers of a close-combat focused archer, this class is for you.


    Some Skills of CR/WS:


    Sharp Fall - Rena plummets downwards and stomp on the ground, causing a large radial shock field that Stuns opponents.


    Violent Attack - Rena launches opponents into the air with a series of somersault kicks, then drills into them diagonally towards the ground.


    Nature Force - Rena illuminates her feet with a green aura which greatly increases her physical attack damage while decreasing her knockdown rate for a limited amount of time, extending the amount of combo attacks she can do.


    Hyper Active: Spiral Strike - Rena sprints at high speed, circling targets repeatedly, causing a tornado to form. The tornado will pull in nearby targets, damaging them constantly. Rena then jumps up and stomps the ground with immense with wind power.

    Trapping Ranger & Night Watcher
    Transform





    Summary: Carries the legendary Blade of Erendil to specialize in assassination, using a variety of traps made from Eldrasil branches that explode into powerful blasts of wind.

    ☆☆

    Recommendation:
    The Trapping Ranger is a new class that transforms your basic far-ranged archer character into a cautious assassin, which is a new feel for the close-combat lovers. The Trapping Ranger possesses a blade to perform speedy skills, and has an arsenal of explosive or debuffing traps that can cripple and help assassinate the enemy quickly. Even though this makes Rena sound like she'll one-hit KO everything (which actually, she potentially can), Trapping Ranger is in fact, more of a tactical class, due to her play with trap skills. Trapping Ranger's traps can act as zone control; a factor that would entertain players who like to use logic and prediction in gameplay, or the traps can just be added midway into your blade combos. Once you become the Night Watcher, your attacks become more swift and stylish, carrying greater combo variety with the Erendil to eliminate all in your way. If you prefer this swordswoman-ranger feel, or love tactical play, then this class is for you.


    Some Skills of TR/NW:


    Explosion Trap - Rena releases a trap from her bow onto the ground that will detonate when an enemy touches it or a certain amount of time has passed.


    Fatality - Rena executes a single, quick slash that deals varied physical damage. The damage output is either Fatal, Normal or Weak.


    Furious Engage - Rena quickly rushes forward, slashing three times and ending with a more powerful kick that leaves enemies airborne.


    Hyper Active: Innocent - Rena throws out a small wind sphere which will glow radiantly, causing all targets within the glow to receive damage. She then detonates it by slashing it with the Erendil, causing the wind sphere to explode into a violent tornado.

    Raven, the Taker




    Story:
    Raven is a fellow commoner from the Kingdom of Velder who rejected the idea of nobles and aristocrats. However, he was still proud of his kingdom, and thus worked hard to become the Captain of the Crow Mercenary Knights. Being a commoner in such a high-ranking position, he caused jealousy among the nobles. It was just a matter of time before he was framed and sentenced to prison. His friends, comrades, and fiancée rescued him and hid within the forest in the outskirts of Velder.

    It did not take long before they were all surrounded by Velder soldiers and slaughtered one by one. Everything that Raven cared for and loved was stripped away from him, right before his very eyes. He stared at all the dead bodies around him as he slowly took what would have been his last few breaths. Just then, a Nasod figure appeared before him offered Raven a contract, for rebirth and power, he would conquer Velder and have revenge on the ones who caused his suffering, Raven agreed, then blacked out.

    Raven awoke in a Nasod capsule, with devices attached to various parts of his body. Reborn with a prototype Nasod claw, he becomes the leader of the Velder Rebellion and blindly fights to destroy the kingdom he once protected. That is until he met a crew of young, ambitious heroes who reminded him of his duty to protect the people he once loved. In atonement for his sins, he decides to join Elsword and his friends on a new life adventure of finding the missing El.

    As Raven, when you enter awakening, a Nasod core will appear behind Raven. Whenever Awakening is activated for the first time, the Nasod core will appear automatically. This Nasod gives Raven two new abilities, as well as a cool looking accessory to him as Raven travels.

    The Nasod core is called out when Raven awakens. The core itself has two modes, attack and defend. The more Raven attacks in awakening, the bigger the Nasod core grows, and its effectiveness grows. The Nasod however, grows at a slower rate when Raven is hit.

    If Raven use an active or special active skill, the core will shape itself into a dark dagger, and pierces the enemy at a rapid speed. The Nasod core's attack power varies on its size and skill used, and will also ignore the enemy's defense.

    However, if you are standing on the ground and being attacked in front of you, the Nasod core will shape itself to form a covering shield, to reduce damage to you. However, this defending act reduces the Nasod core's size. If it's too small, the core will vanish (It will come back if you attack or receive attacks, however). You cannot move during the guarding animation, but you can use the Shadow Strafe skill to move out of it.

    If Raven activates awakening with the third orb filled (it is a flaming orb now), he will create a dense, small electric cloud around him, dealing semi-constant damage.The damage dealt from the cloud does not add to the knockdown counter, and does not stun.Raven will gain 5mp each spark. It's a great MP gainer as Raven passes through lots of mobs.The electric cloud deals damage every 2.5 seconds per opponent.

    The Sword Taker and Blade Master is the agile class for Raven, executing high-speed slashes faster than any other character. Many skills involve the blade, which are usually light and not so strong as you think, but the power you are looking for resides in the multiple hits you deal. Of course, you still have your Nasod Arm, which you combine with your swordplay to add with damaging scratches, or use it to summon a small blackhole to carry your enemies in as you slash them to nothing, but even this requires some experience and fast reactions. To be able to deal the best damage in both dungeon and PvP situations, you need to adapt to Raven's swordplay combos. Though, if you love the style of speedy sword attacks and long combos, then play this class.


    Some Skills of ST/BM:


    Hypersonic Stab - Raven dashes forward and unleashes a fury of slashes faster than the eye can see, slashing all in his path.


    Bloody Accel - Raven strengthens his sword by sacrificing the blood of surrounding enemies with a spherical slash, successfully giving him a buff that allows him to drain his enemies' HP while causing the Bleed status on them.


    Wolf Fang - Raven does a short leap forwards to tackle his opponent with his Nasod Arm. On contact with a target, Raven will use the opponent to propel himself into the air and swoop downwards causing two crescents from his blade to attack the target, dealing more physical damage.


    Hyper Active: Extreme Blade - Raven blasts forward, launching enemies into the air and piercing through them at unfathomable speeds, gaining height as he attacks. His level of swordsmanship seperates space and darkness, creating a black-hole in the air that drags in nearby enemies. At the climax of his assault he comes crashing down with a powerful vertical slice.

    Story:
    Eve, an upper-class Nasod, was once called 'The Little Queen of Nasods' when Humans and Nasod coexisted in Ancient Elrios. The times were peaceful and they worked side by side with their creators. However, the reign of prosperity was fleeting, as the power of El began to weaken. Nasod civilization declined without its power source. They sought help from the Humans, but they were denied help, and the war of Nasod and Humans began. Years passed with the Humans winning the ancient war but at the same time diminishing the El's power. Only a few ancient Nasods survived the war and made it back into their preservation capsules.

    For thousands of years, Eve was preserved in her capsule unit to avoid the catastrophe until an El fragment flew into it. Eve woke up to only find out that she was stranded alone in this new present time. She gathered her remaining energy and ancient knowledge to revive King Nasod and the Nasod race. After all, a queen cannot be without a king and Eve understood that best.

    Years passed and King Nasod was on a mission to continue the ancient war with the humans. He and his followers had become corrupted and no longer acknowledged Eve. In the midst of the war, a young red-haired boy and his friends destroyed the last remains of Eve's race and ended King Nasod's life. Once again, Eve is left stranded and alone in this present time as though her efforts were meaningless. Not all hope is lost! Eve decides to regain the power of El and hopes to revive her race once again. She decides to follow the red-haired boy and his friends to find the El Shards and revive her race. It was, after all, the first time a boy said he wanted to be her friend.

    Hyper Active: Code: Thunderbolt - Eve creates a Dimension Link and summons her third Nasod assistant, named 'Ferdinand'. He descends from the link, crashing into the ground and damaging nearby opponents, and then proceeds to attack nearby enemies automatically. After a set duration, or pressing the skill key again while he is active will make him use his strongest attack, after which he will bow to Eve and disappear.

    Chung Seiker, the Guardian




    Story:
    Members of the Seiker family are known protectors of Hamel City, the capital of Senace Kingdom. It is to this name that Chung was born. Widely known as Prince Seiker, Chung was trained for combat from his early years. When Senace Kingdom came under attack, his father devoted himself to defending it. Unfortunately, the demon possessed him, causing him to lose all control of his own body, and the noble fighter unwittingly came to lead the enemies to attack Hamel. The Prince tried to hold his father to try and stop him, but got seriously wounded by him.

    With the help of Elsword and his friends, Chung escapes the battlefield and is on the way to recovering from his wounds. Meanwhile, most parts of Senace are now occupied by the demons. He then decides to leave Hamel to the Red Knights and go with Elsword to train and become stronger than ever. He swears to himself that he will not use the Seiker name and will call himself Chung until he returns to save Hamel and take the Water El back from the demons.

    Like all characters, Chung also has his own Awakening Beads. But his awakening function sets him apart. His 3rd awakening bead at first glance, looks like its locked, with chains covering it. The way to unlock it is just like unlocking other awakening beads, getting enough hits. The main reason it looks different is to show you that your Berserk Mode is ready and fully functional.


    When activating awakening with all 3 beads filled, you will see that Chung gains a helm. This is proof that Berserk Mode is activated. In Berserk Mode, not only does Chung gain a slight boost in his attack strength and skills, but more importantly, Chung gains Unlimited Ammunition. This means that he has limitless ammo. Skills that normally use one or two, or even all your cannonball supply don't effect your ammunition count. Therefore, you can spam all of your powerful skills that require cannonballs, but just be sure to keep an eye on your mana. However, it is wise to use his Awakening Mode only at desperate times or when getting prepared for a boss battle. It will take a while for you to achieve Chung's Berserk Mode again, and his form only lasts for 90 seconds without any awakening time modifiers.

    Recommendation:
    Fury Guardian and Iron Paladin keeps Chung's usual Destroyer smashing attacks with some powered upgrades. Fury Guardian will access incredible battle cries that deal powerful damage, a couple of them also crippling the opponent with a status ailment. Once you become Iron Paladin, your combos are extended further to the point where Iron Paladin is truly a mighty class. And true to the paladin title, you can also gain access to skills that greatly increase your defensive capability, making Iron Paladin the best tank in the game. For people who love smashing opponents continuously without end, like to tank and do damage, or if you like this feminine look on Chung, then this class is for you.

    Pandemonium - Chung gathers his energy and unleashes a loud cry, damaging nearby enemies and causing them to Panic.


    Lunatic Fury - Chung shoulder bash into his targets with the Destroyer and then slams it down, firing rounds rapidly onto the ground depending on how much ammo he has, which pulsate and release waves of energy high into the air.


    Land Demolisher - With heavy might, Chung smashes his Destroyer onto the ground to create a large crater, giving him a special earth-shaking buff that adds extra hits and damage to his attacks.


    Hyper Active: Doom Strike - Chung leaps high into the air and then crashes back down, fissuring the ground and stunning enemies around him. He then somersaults even higher as he charges mana, then smashes into the ground with immense force, causing a massive eruption.

    Artillery Strike - Quantum Ballista - Chung sets the Destroyer on the ground and selects an area around the map using the cross-hair to be bombarded with a powerful warhead.


    Hyper Active: Outrage Strike - Chung fires a barrage of missiles that freeze in place around the area. He then tosses his cannon into the air, locks onto the missiles, and uses his Silver Shooters to detonate all the missiles, creating a massive array of explosions, and all just in time to catch his cannon.

    Ara Haan, the Little Xia




    Story:

    Ara Haan was born in Fahrmann, the dominion of the Gods which is located at the North of the Fluone continent. Isshin, the village that Ara lives in, houses a large, shattered El-fragment. This particular fragment radiated powerful moon energy.

    Ara is the daughter of the Haan Family, a warrior family that protected the seal of the Nine-Tailed-Fox for generations. At first glance, Ara looks like a kind and polite girl, but because of her family's influence, she is actually a highly skilled martial artist and spear wielder. Her brother, Aren Haan, began his training early and was able to become strong enough to become the Defense Captain of Fahrmann's Capital. On one night, the village Ara had lived in had been attacked by an army of demons. Ara tried her best to fight back, but was outnumbered and cornered. In the destruction, Ara fell into a room containing a mysterious altar. A large hairpin that was pinned to the altar was thrown across the floor. Ara is approached by her brother, Aren, who is now Ran, the demon general who had led the invasion. Aren, who had inherited his strong spirit from the moon, had been corrupted and reborn as Ran due to the Dark El contaminating the moon's power. Ran had conquered Fahrmann's capital and led his army to retrieve the village's El-fragment.

    As Ran is about to kill Ara, the last survivor, she instinctively protected herself with the hairpin on the floor. The pin unleashed a powerful light and Ara fell unconscious. When she woke, Ara found herself alone in center of the village. The nine tailed fox had possessed her and fought the demons back. Ara then hears the spirit's voice, Eun, who had been sealed in the pin for centuries. Eun makes a contract with Ara, she will lend Ara her power and help her find her brother, Aren. In exchange, Ara has to help Eun find the power of the Elstone. Ara accepts, and they go on their journey to search for Aren.

    The duo arrives to Hamel after hearing of the demon invasion there, but Ara is too late and can only find traces of the demons. After searching, Ara comes across the El Team, who mistakes her for another demon. After the misunderstanding, Elsword tells Ara that they already had fought the demons and that Ran had escaped from the Water Temple. He offers Ara to travel with him and his team, as they may come across Ran again. Ara agrees, joining in hopes of finding her brother as well as the Elstone to fulfill her contract with Eun.

    Like Chung, Ara has a 3rd awakening bead transformation called the Eun Mode. While in this mode, her appearance changes, in which her hair will become fully white and 9 spectral tails will appear on her back, giving her the looks of the Gumiho.

    Within Eun Mode, Ara gains the following:
    • Standard awakening damage increase;
    • Spirit Bar Regeneration: 1 Orb filled per target killed (indicated by a black fire surrounding her enemy);
    • HP Recovery upon killing an enemy;
    • Increased Attack Speed and shortened casting time for skills.




    Spirit Energy and Combo Cancels
    *A system only exclusive to Ara.

    Ara has a unique combo system which involves using Spirit Energy. Spirit Energy is shown as beads below your HP bar. New players start with a 4 bead gauge, but can expand by 1 bead every 10th level (e.g. Level 20 will give you 6 beads, Level 30 will give you 7 beads) up to 10 beads at Level 60.

    Spirit Energy depletes when using certain Special Active/Active skills. However, it can also be replenished by using other certain skills such as Shadow Rising or Gain Force.

    Ara is able to cancel skills by using another Special Active/Active skill right before the previous skill used ends. This will cancel the active skill's final hit which prevents knockdown, but also gains extra Spirit Energy depending on the skill. For example, if you use the Special Active skill Shadow Knot (which usually gains 1 Spirit Energy upon use), and cancel with the Active skill Tiger Claw by pressing it before you do the final slash with Shadow Knot, you will perform Tiger Claw. At the same time, you will also gain additional 4 Spirit Energy orbs (1 from using Shadow Knot, and +4 from cancel bonus as stated in description), totaling 5 orbs gained.

    • Little Xia: "Xia" basically means "brave/chivalrous person."
    • Little Hsien: Hsien is one of a group of benevolent spirits that promote good in the world in the Chinese religion.
    • Sakra Devanam: Śakra is a nickname for the god Indra in Hindu mythology and the ruler of the Trāyastriṃśa Heaven and the Devas according to Buddhist cosmology. Śakra's full title is known as Śakro devānām indraḥ.
    • Yama Raja: Yama Raja's Chinese name is 冥王, pronounced as Mínɡwánɡ and has multiple meanings; in this case, Mínɡwánɡ would mean "King of Darkness/the Underworld" and refers to Yama, which is the judge of the dead and ruler of the Narakas in Buddhist and Hindu mythology.

    Recommendation:
    Little Hsien, meaning "sprite" or "fairy," implies Ara's new attack style where she is capable of doing quick attacks in mid-air. Along with her enhanced spear handling, Little Hsien can also use seal palms to push enemies back with tremendous force. Her Secret Dragon Art: Explosive Breaking, allows her to jump high into the air and rockets down, smashing the ground to break it open into sharp rocks, dealing damage to all targets that are impacted by the rocks. Sakra Devanam upgrades with new aerial attacks, having control of the battlefield when fighting in the air. She also gains a mastery of another secret art, called the Secret Tiger Art: Fierce Tiger, where she executes a quick flurry of spear barrages, finishing with an fatal slash. Sakra Devanam implies a holy, "heavenly" side, or the Yin in Yin/Yang. If you are a lover of very speedy attacks (faster than Elsword as Infinity Sword), ground-breaking and as an aerial ace, you will want to play this class.


    Some Skills of LH/SD:


    Moonlight Slash - Ara does a large circular slash around her. By holding the skill button, Ara can charge up Moonlight Slash for extra damage.


    Suppression - Channeling energy power from the Eun hairpin, Ara drops a gravitational drop from the sky in front of her which compresses the target, dealing damage and giving them the Helpless debuff.


    Flying Kite - Ara blinks to the nearest target around the field and slashes them. If in a group of targets, Ara will blink and slash around randomly.


    Hyper Active: Thousand Blossoms - Ara will furiously slash her targets with a barrage of slashes at high speed. As she slashes, she releases tiny magical flower petals which acts like tiny blades from the tip of her spear, allowing her to extend the range of her spear while slashing.

    Little Devil, as the name implies, gains control of destructive, demonic powers, amplifying her strength in Spirit Energy attacks. With powers of demons, Ara can materialize dark weapons like black spears and wolf spirits, and can even materialize Spirit Energy as projectiles in her attacks. Her Secret Wolf Fang Art: Wolf Spirits Strike, allows her to call forth wolf spirits to rush forward and destroy her enemies. As Yama Raja, Ara's control over Spirit Energy is further enhanced as if like a hobby, firing them at ease. Her new Secret Rakshasa Art: Purgatory, combines a barrage of Spirit Energy projectiles and ending it with an explosive mass of orbs, dealing severe damage to everything caught inside. Yama Raja implies a dark, "demonic" side, or the Yang in Yin/Yang. If you are a lover of destructive and dark magic, or like a combination of fast spear attacks and ranged powers, you will want this class.


    Some Skills of LD/YR:


    Spear Prison - Ara drops numerous materialized dark spears in front of her to trap her targets inside. She then materialize a large dark spear and drops it within the field of spears, impaling all targets within.


    Suppression: Energy - Ara materializes a giant energy wormhole in front of her that drags all surrounding targets into it. She then uses power from her Eun hairpin to compress the hole, causing it to explode, dealing damage to all enemies caught inside. Targets will then be debuffed with Helpless.


    Soul Escape - Ara materializes a clone made of spirit orbs and controls it to take away the opponent's soul by piercing through the target and breaks the soul from behind.


    Hyper Active: Energy Cannon - Ara creates a giant spirit orb above her and deals damage to all targets touching the orb. When the orb is at its largest, she throws the orb, causing the orb to slowly drop forward, dealing massive damage to any targets in its path and explodes when it reaches the ground.

    Elesis, the Free Knight




    Story:

    Elesis is strong willed but is prone to acting before talking. She would do anything as long as it's for her younger brother, Elsword, and cares deeply for him. Elesis's sword skills were passed down to her from her father who is a retired Velder Kingdom Knight, and she has shown extraordinary proficiency in fighting with a sword. Elesis had predicted the approaching demons that would bring danger to the continent, and as a result, she joins the Velder Knights to stop the demon invasion in order to protect Elrios and her younger brother.

    When playing as Elesis, there will be an additional gauge below the HP/MP bar. This "Chivalry" gauge will enable you to activate one of two kinds of power: "Aura of Gale" or "Aura of Annihilation" for a period of time.

    Depending on the type of combo attack (Z and X keys) or skill you use, the gauge will lean towards vitality or destruction. While in either "Aura of Gale" or "Aura of Annihilation", you will receive certain special benefits.


    Note that the system is not what it may appear to be at first; Gale-type attacks take away gale from the gauge, leaning the gauge towards annihilation; annihilation-type attacks take away Annihilation from the gauge, leaning the gauge towards gale; this is why only attacks that use the gauge area affected in the respective aura.

    Example 1: The ZZZZ combo sequence is Gale based. Therefore, it must use gale for attacking. Using ZZZZ will drain gale, and fill annihilation.

    Example 2: The XXX combo sequence is Annihilation based. Therefore, it must use annihilation for attacking. Using XXX will drain annihilation, and fill gale.

    You can view if your attacks deal Gale or Annihilation by checking the attack sequence menu. Press K, then click the words (Idle, Dash, Jump, Dash-Jump) at the top of the menu to access a list of your attacks. Skills will be noted to be either Gale or Annihilation when you hover your mouse over them and view their description.



    Aura of Gale

    When the gauge is completely blue (by using annihilation-based attacks) Gale will be unleashed in the form of azure aura.



    Under the effects of Aura of Gale, you will gain the following benefits:

    • Increased evasion, movement and jump speed.
    • 40% reduced KD counter on Gale-based combos.
    • Gale-based skills cost 40% (20% for PvP) less mana for both mana usage and usage requirements.
    • Gale-based skills cooldowns are reduced by 75% (50% in PvP) of the original cooldown time.




    Aura of Annihilation

    When the gauge is completely red (by using Gale-based attacks) Annihilation will be unleashed in the form of crimson aura.



    Under the effects of Aura of Annihilation, you will gain the following benefits:

    • Annihilation-based combos and skills will have a 100% critical rate and will ignore defensive stances, such as Iron Paladin's Guard and PvE enemies with the ability to guard (e.g. Glitter Defenders, or Hoakin). Knocked-down opponents also receive full damage.
    • While Annihilation is active, if you are hit while holding down Z or X, Elesis will activate a Stoic mode where she will bounce enemies away when attacked, at cost of annihilation aura instead of mana.




    *Be aware that Aura of Gale and Aura of Annihilation have no time limits. They become empty once Elesis attacks enough or becomes attacked enough.

    Recommendation: Like Elsword, Elesis as Saber Knight focuses on enhancing swordplay. However, Elesis adds her own touch of style that makes attacking feel "heavy" upon enemies, slow but very powerful. That is what she does indeed, although much further as she advances to SK and with more abilities. She has skills similar to Elsword as Sword Knight; Air Slash, Armaggedon Blade, Double Slash, and such, although with different names, are performed differently, and have slightly different functions. She has a couple skills exclusive to her though, such as Saber - Extinction. However, this still doesn't stop her from being powerful with the sword. As Grand Master, her swordplay skill is greatly improved. She may also have a Sonic Blade, but Elesis has new skills that differentiates her from her brother, and is overall the better sibling in terms of strength in combo attacks. Elesis has somewhat slow still very strong, and if you want to improve the speed and effeciency in her sword abilities, or if you want to play the female knight, this class is for you.


    Some Skills of SK/GM:

    Sword of Victory - Elesis charges her sword with magic, transforming it into a large blade that she smashes down in front of her. The blade temporarily increases the range of her attacks, as well as her attack power until it disappears.


    Juggernaut Buster - Elesis spins and swing her claymore with great strength, forming a strong gust and gather up targets in. She will then do a mighty swing and launch them away. While spinning, you can move left and right using the arrow keys.


    War Prelude - Elesis emits a aura which deals damage and buffs herself and her party with speed and MP regeneration effects.


    Hyper Active: Sword of Relics - Elesis charges up her energy, pushing targets back. She then materializes the energy in a form of a giant sword and drops it onto targets in front and detonating it.

    Summary: Enhances the arts of pyrokinesis and throws blazes freely to incinerate everything that opposes her.

    Recommendation: While as Pyro Knight, some may think she has similarities to Elsword as Magic Knight. You could say that, but Elesis still has her strong sword mixed in with slower, but more damaging blazes of fire in a pure burning form. She can send them out with her hand at ease, proven by how she can throw three blazes in the air consecutively. Her skills are also in the form of pure blazes, and are too powerful. Advancing to Blazing Heart, Elesis has true mastery over fiery blazes, being able to imbue it into her sword and slash or throw it with greater power. If you love to play with fire and sword, you'll love this class.


    Some Skills of PK/BH:


    Eternal Fire - Elesis channels all the magic within her, unleashing a blazing tornado of fire.


    Wall of Prominence - Elesis creates a wall of flames in front of her which will stay for certain time while doing damage to targets.


    Blazing Dance - Elesis charges through and blinks to the nearest target while slashing with flames.


    Hyper Active: Ancient Fire - Elesis releases a huge amount of flame energy, blowing any targets caught in the vortex upwards.

    I Like This. Finnaly a very good guide for the new players. I get so frustrated with new players asking me these common sence questions. But i cant blame them for not knowing, although the website should link players to elwiki.net to learn everything Elsword before they start playing. But of course they cant do that. :/

    PS. I think some of the difficulties you put were mostly incorrect and most of them only had 1 star i didnt see 3-4 much
